Code of Conduct Infringement

Policy on Learner Code of Conduct Infringement Process

The Training Centre will maintain a safe and productive learning environment for all learners on all courses. If a learner infringes (breaks the rules of) the Learner Code of Conduct, the following process will apply:

Stage 1 – Verbal Warning

If you commit a minor infringement, the tutor or instructor will give a verbal warning to you  and will record it on the Training Centre Learner Code of Conduct Infringement Report Form. You will be offered a copy of the recorded warning, which should outline the issue and the expected improvement. You are required to sign the form confirming that you are aware of the action.

Stage 2 – First Written Warning

If you continuously commit infringements or cause serious issues, the tutor or instructor may move to stage two and will issue a first written warning to you, using the Learner Code of Conduct Infringement Report Form. You will be given a copy of the form or a formal letter outlining the issue and the action taken in regard to the issue. You will be required to sign the form confirming that you are aware of the action.

Stage 3 – Second Written Warning

If you continue to commit infringements or cause serious issues a stage three warning may be issued to you. If this happens a second written warning is issued to you, using the Learner Code of Conduct Infringment Report Form. You will be given a copy of the form or a formal letter outlining the issue and the action taken in regard to the issue. You will be required to sign the form confirming that you are aware of the action.

Stage 4 – Termination

If you do not address the conduct issues outlined in previous warnings, or have acted in a way that warrants termination from the course, your case will be referred for review by the Training Centre. The Training Centre will determine what action to take, and this may include terminating your participation in the course. You will be given a copy of the form or a formal letter outlining the issue and the action taken in regard to the issue. You will be required to sign the form confirming you are aware of the action.

Note: For stages two, three and four infringements committed by an Apprentice, the Services to Business Training Advisor will be notified and where appropriate your employer will be notified also.

Appeal Process

You can appeal any action taken at any stage of the process. You can do this by appealing to the next management level in the Training Centre. The Management structure is shown in the organisation chart below;
